The 2nd centralised meeting of the 2005 season was held at Oakington and turned out to be a beautiful day – warm and virtually no wind whatsoever !
Just 7 teams turned up and four rounds were held with Dave Rudd acting as CD
Fastest time of the day was recorded in the first round with Ross/Turner putting in a 3:17.5 with Fitzgerald/Thomason second fastest on 3:27.1. Miles/Yeldham recorded a 3:30.1 and Barker/North a 3:32.9. Fry/Whorton struggled early on but finished the day with a 3:30 which unfortunately didn’t count as they had already had their 4 attempts – with 3:36.2 being their best time.
Brian Turner was testing out a cowled undercarriage system which looked very promising but broke away from the fuselage half way through the day.
