The 2001 F2C Team Racing League Results
British teams took part in 15 F2C events during the 2001 season and the league table was scored across all of these.From the second event of the season is was Ross/Turner who led the way and, although Fitzgerald/Thomason were level at this point, it was Malcolm and Brian who built up an incredible lead - achieved by winning 9 of the domestic competitions and placing 3rd at the European Championships.
Fitzgerald/Thomason flew far less events and did well to place second with 33 points - 6 points ahead of Heaton/Broadhead on 27 points having flown the same number of events.
It was excellent to see three of our "learning" teams scoring improvement points towards the end of the season and this should encourage further participation next season.
One slightly disappointing trend was the lack of finals flown. The inclusion of 1 point for flying in a final and a further point for finishing a final was intended to encourage participants to fly finals but, having appeared successful for a couple of seasons, the old trend seemed to have reappeared.
